- EKKI is one of LARGEST, STRONGEST, TOUGHEST and most DURABLE timbers available.
- EKKI hardwood is extremely DURABLE. It is naturally resistant to rot, decay and biological attack of all kinds, requiring no preservative treatment of any kind.
- EKKI is resistant to road salt and industrial chemicals.
- EKKI is very HARD and DENSE. Specific gravity is greater than 1.
- EKKI is highly RESISTANT TO ABRASION.
- EKKI RESISTS SPLITTING.
- EKKI has equal or better FIRE RESISTANT AND FLAME SPREAD properties than fire retardant treated wood.
- EKKI has EXTREMELY HIGH CRUSHING STRENGTH.
- EKKI requires no protective finishing. Paint, stain or other finishes may be applied to suit. The natural color of fresh sawn EKKI is a dark red/brown. Without a finishing coat, over time, EKKI acquires a fawn-gray color when exposed to the elements.
